Woods Beers

Being located next door to the award-winning Wood Brewery, you'll find a good selection of their beers served from hand-pulls dating back almost 100 years. And because the beer doesn't have far to travel, you'll find it at its best...from Brewery to Cellar is a mere 10 yards !  We're in the 2008 Good Beer Guide.

All year round you'll find Shropshire Lad (4.5%) and Parish Bitter (4%) and other seasonal ales such as Christmas Cracker (6%) during the festive period, Woodcutter (4.2%) during the autumn and Hopping Mad in the Spring amongst others. 

Don't be surprised to find us serving Christmas Cracker in the Summer !  Being the Tap to the Brewery, we can sometimes get access to these beers when they are made for bottling.

The ales are all kept in a temperature controlled cellar in traditional ways - the barrels are laid on their sides and the beer isn't passed through any chillers, gases or other artificial methods, so you'll be served a pint as it is meant to be. 

We also stock Woods' beers in bottles (sold individually or in presentation packs) as well as Shropshire Lad Beer Mustard and Shropshire Lad pint glasses.

We also stock the usual nitro-fizz-keg-chemico-stuff such as lager and stout if you really must!
